Summer is here

This has definitely been one of the best spring seasons I’ve seen in a while and it’s looking like the good fishing should continue into summer. The fish in the interior marsh have grouped up and a 20 + fish school has been a common occurrence.  The temperature is the only problem with this time of year. I recommend starting early in the morning and fishing a half day to beat the heat.  The fishing also tends to slow down in the mid-day heat. Here are some pictures and videos from the past month.

Shallow South Spring Redfishing

Shallow South Springing Redfish from Shallow South on Vimeo.

This is a short film showing the great opportunity for fly fisherman in the Louisiana marsh. Filmed in the Spring/Summer season produced by Dalton Nix with the help of some local New Orleans guides Capt Miles LaRose, Capt Rocky Thickstun and Capt Greg Moon.

Venice Mondo Bull Red

Caught this beuty on tusday while I was out scouting by my self. Needless to say I had to get some footage so people would believe me.

Sharks on the Fly

Had a friend come in town to buy my old boat and while he was down we decided to go look around Venice.  We found clear water big redfish and sharks lots of sharks.  The redfish were being a little difficult to get to bite so we went after the sharks.  We got 3 to bite and we have some footage of one. Enjoy….
